Cape Cod Gateway Airport
Reconstruction of Runway 6-24

The Cape Cod Gateway Airport (HYA) is a public use commercial and general aviation airport located on Cape Cod. The airport acts as a hub for flights to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The airport has regularly scheduled operations by Cape Air and seasonal operations by JetBlue Airways and American Airlines. Runway 6-24 was last constructed over 20 years ago and reached the end of its usable life. The Runway and safety areas were fully reconstructed to support current operations and aircraft at the airport. 

The project scope of work included the following elements:

• Removal of the original Runway 6-24 (approx. 4,700’ x 150’)
• Grading of safety areas
• Installation of new base material
• Construction of Runway 6-24
• Grooving Runway 6-24
• Installation of runway pavement markings
• Installation of new runway lighting system
• Reconstruction of taxiway stubs


ASG was responsible for completing the design and construction/project management for this $19M construction project.
