Air Traffic Control Tower AFTIL Study
The New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB) is an FAA Part 139 certificated commercial service airport located in southeastern Massachusetts and is a transportation gateway to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The current airport terminal building and airport constructed over 65 years ago.
ASG worked closely with the Airport to determine 4 potential tower locations based on a full 3D airport mapping model generated from the ASG Drone program. The 4 tower locations were presented to the FAA and further studied during the AFTIL meeting. ASG’s efforts exponentially decreased the timeline of the AFTIL study. The new Air Traffic Control Tower is expected to be constructed in 2027.
